With Covid sort of coming to a close, more big movies are being released, and a lot of them are on streaming sites like Hulu, Netflix, or HBO max. At the time of writing, Kong Vs. Godzilla comes out on HBO Max on March 31. A few weeks ago everyone was talking about Kong Vs. Godzilla and wondering who would win a fight.

This movie takes place in the same universe as Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of Monsters. So I will be using those movies as references to Kong and Godzilla's abilities.

Let me start off by saying I want Kong to win, but I'm pretty sure he's gonna get rocked.

I think it all comes down to this. Godzilla shoots fire out of his mouth and monkeys are super flammable. Even without that Godzilla still had a good chance of winning. He's taller and stronger, and his legs are the size of Mount Rushmore. He could probably squat more than me. Godzilla does have a pretty garbage reach though, with those T-Rex arms. Godzilla also has really tough skin that will be hard to break through. Godzilla has an experience edge too since he has fought a lot more monsters than Kong. Godzilla also has a big edge if they ever fight in the water, which they probably will. It's probably over for Kong since Godzilla is a lizard and swims.

On the other hand, Kong does have some strong abilities. Senior Nolan Moore thinks Kong will win because "Kong got it on lock, he’s built different. Godzilla is bigger but Kong is more elusive". This is a good statement in Kong's defense. Kong is fast, agile, and has a way better reach than Godzilla. Another attribute that could benefit Kong is that he is a monkey, and can use tools. In the other Kong movie, he slaps that big lizard with a boat propeller. He also uses trees as baseball bats occasionally.

I really liked the movie but the ending really didn’t deliver. That's pretty much all I can say without spoiling it. Something towards the beginning of the movie that I thought was really funny is Kong speaks sign language. They did a pretty good job of setting up a plot and foreshadowing the final fight. One thing that I thought was sort of stupid was when they were moving Kong on a big boat and he was all chained up. Godzilla swam over and just beat Kong up pretty bad. Kong ended up almost drowning and just laid down on an aircraft carrier. Godzilla was about to finish him but then all the boats just turned off the engines and played dead and then Godzilla swam away. I thought that was a little dumb.

Overall it was a good movie and I like the whole thing except for the ending. There was some pretty cool stuff and sort of an origin story for Kong and there is a whole thing that shows stuff that monkeys built and is pretty cool and important to the plot. This movie is a 7.7/10.
