The storyline is very close in relation to Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Apex immediately took over Twitch and YouTube, quickly being created by the influencers who knew of the game, other influencers big and small, as well as gamers who had instantly become fans. Apex Legends was originally released on Feb.4 2019. Apex Season 12 (the newest season) was released on Feb. 8, 2022.
When Respawn first released Apex, they thought it wasn't going to get popular enough to get them through a week. But within 24 hours of release, they reached a total of 1 million players. It was made for people that wanted a more realistic BR (Battle Royale). It was made for people that didn't like the building or 3rd person aspects that Fortnite had. Respawn made Apex with the weapons that were very closely related to those of Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Despite, or perhaps because of, the game's continued success, Respawn Entertainment has no plans to make a sequel to Apex Legends, with the studio instead intent on growing the game. That's according to game director Steven Ferreira, who said in a new interview that Respawn still has many ideas.
The game is fun to play. You don't have to be young prodigy to play and have fun. There is a rank system where you can try and rank up and play against better and better players. Apex has several ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Masters, Predator. There is also rewards as you play and level up. Apex has a system where you can open packs and get an item that is 1 in 500 chances of getting. I like to play to get better and get my overall kills on a legend higher and higher. I want to get good at Apex. It is fun because there are locations on the maps where there might be some PVE (Player vs Enviroment) where you might have to kill some wild beasts. There are 4 maps that they choose to go in rotation every season. This season, in season 12, there are 3 maps that you can play. It can be quite hard to get good at Apex. I have been playing since season 5 and I would say that I am in the top 5% of players. I love to get home and instantly get on Apex and play with my friends for fun or to play competitively in the ranked battle royale.
Mad Maggie, the new character added to Apex Legends for season 12, From EA
The story with season 12 is that the new character, Mad Maggie, was supposed to be put to death, but when the CEO of the Apex Games decided to put her into the games, they changed her sentence. They put her into the games to die. She committed several crimes against her home world of Salvo. She was to be put to death by the games. The story does not affect game play, but they continuously update interactions between characters. They recently released a story about a character and there is a cinematic about said characters brother. It ended up causing problems.
The game has very good graphics from being out for 3 years. Apex was made by Respawn and EA, which are known for their graphics. The art style for Apex is a mix of realistic and fictional. They try to make it look real while it being made up in a made-up reality. Games are known to have bugs or issues, it’s just the nature of making video games. They just released a new update and a big glitch occurred where several millions of players had received 15 free levels in the battle pass. They recently released a new event in where after you completed the challenges and watched the cinematic, your FOV (field of view) got lowered to the point where it was basically unplayable. Respawn then tweeted to just restart your game and they would push out an update to fix it. Respawn fixes the problems fast.
The game does not compare to the traffic that Titanfall or Titanfall 2. Apex has more players and are ever expanding every season. There are about 100 million active Apex Legends players. Apex players are looking for an easier alternative than the sweats that they might run into on Fortnite or even Warzone. After news of the anti-cheat not working or barely functioning on Warzone, Apex saw a lot more traffic. Even large Warzone streamers are starting to play Apex. Those streamers have also said that they probably won’t be returning because of how much they like the play style of Apex Legends. Other people love this game as well. People think that this is the best battle royale game ever. IGN gives Apex a 9/10. They also rate season 12 of Apex as an 8.5/10.
