Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan
John Krasinski has been a very popular face when it comes to fan favorite TV series and movies. Whether it be The Office, A Quiet Place, 13 Hours, Monsters University, and my personal favorite, Jack Ryan.
Jack Ryan is an action-packed TV series with the main character being John Krasinski who plays a CIA financial analyst named Jack Ryan. This has been a top TV series that I have ever watched, and you can find it on Amazon Prime.
Jack Ryan season 1 opens in Washington D.C. at CIA headquarters. Ryan notices a series of strange financial transactions from Yemen. He brings his theories about the transactions to his boss, Jim Greer. Overtime Greer and Ryan work together to try and trace down who is responsible for these strange transactions.
They eventually trace them to a guy named Suleiman, who is a high-level target. He was responsible for the death of over 300 people and an attempt of assassination on the U.S. President. So, he was already a high level wanted target for the CIA. After the realization of the target at hand.
Greer decides to make Jack Ryan an active CIA agent. Greer and Ryan then hop on a plane and head over to Yemen, where they would question a couple of Suleiman’s men that had been apprehended by the U.S. military. The first season moves fast and there is constant action. The first season moves swiftly and there are honestly no slow parts during the first season. It is a constant flow of events and it always keeps your attention.
As we enter season 2, Jim Greer is transferred to Moscow, while Jack Ryan holds his new position in the CIA. He begins season 2 by investigating a suspicious container of illegal arms that was shipped to Venezuela. As Jack Ryan arrives in Venezuela, he meets an old friend, Jim Greer.
Greer is also suspicious of the shipment of illegal arms and wants to investigate along side Jack Ryan. Ryan eventually meets with the Venezuelan President, Nicholas Reyes.
Reyes is found to be a corrupt President as we dive deeper into season 2. We learn in season 2 that a woman named Gloria Bonalde is running against President Reyes in the next election. She grabs the attention of many Venezuelan citizens as she advocates for more equality and less governmental corruption that President Reyes demonstrates.
The second season is a bit slower than the first. I would have to say that I enjoyed the 1st season more because it was very fast paced and always kept me entertained. There are episodes that even made me want to skip through because they were so slow.
What should we expect in season 3? We have seen in the first two seasons, that every season is different but still may have some ties to the previous season.
This keeps the viewers entertained and invested in the series. I think we can expect the next season to take place in a completely new country with a new problem at hand. Jack Ryan season 3 is said to be release on Amazon prime in fall/winter of 2022.
