New Crest, Who Dis? Zehler House Gets a New Look!
Zehler House has put the old logo to rest and has decided to rebrand. This year, Senior Captains Drew Currin and Jacob Herzog, along with House Dean Mr. Anthony Corder, were excited to show off the new Zehler flag logo.
Each House’s crest has signs and symbols that are used to represent their house and the Marianists. For Zehler, they have chosen keen details that represent them. In the background of the crest, there is a stripe with a club and a crown that represents Alsace, France where Brother Max Zehler is from. He had to leave Alsace to answer the call in Cincinnati to help Archbishop Purcell.
In the middle of the flag, there is a heart with seven swords through it. This heart is an old Marianist symbol that refers to the seven sorrows of Mary, that she had to endure during her life. The Crusader had the pleasure of asking Zehler Dean Corder about the crest. “For our purposes, Mary undertook great struggles as part of her mission to bring Christ into the world. Brother Max took on Mary’s mission and all the hardships that came with it when leaving his hometown and ministering to the city of Cincinnati,” Dean Corder said.
Corder further explained the mission of Brother Zehler accepting the mission of Mary and how it represents the crest. The guys of Zehler House along with Dean Corder are excited to display this beautiful new crest and look to take up the same mission as Brother Max Zehler once did!
