Spring Signings

Recap of Spring Signing

By: Connor Fuhrer and Dana Walker

Last week Moeller High School celebrated the athletic achievements of 17 standout student-athletes this spring as they officially signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates, these Crusaders proudly took the next step in their journeys on National Signing Day.

The group represents a wide range of sports and schools across the country:

Football led the way with four signees:

  • Jordan Brown (Bluffton University)

  • James Cornwell (Marietta College)

  • Carl Jeffries III (Mount Saint Joseph University)

  • Deacon Simmons (DePauw University)

Baseball also had a strong presence:

  • Brody Foltz (Neumann University)

  • Connor Fuhrer (The Ohio State University)

  • Connor Scoggins (New York University)

Three athletes committed for track and field:

  • Jackson Butler (Thomas More University)

  • Camden Pawlick (Northern Kentucky University)

  • Christian Stewart (Northern Kentucky University)

Moeller also celebrated commitments in several other sports:

  • Londen Murphy (Ohio Northern University, Wrestling)

  • Lucas Stuerenberg (Lake Erie College, Wrestling)

  • Jackson Patterson (Nova Southeastern University, Swimming)

  • Bradey Sexton (Bowling Green State University, Rugby)

  • Alexander Witecki Vel Kazanecki (University of Delaware, Basketball)

For senior Dana Walker, who has attended numerous signings over the years, this one stood out in a unique way.

“Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention at first. Since it was the last signing and everyone said it would be long and maybe boring, I didn’t expect much. But once it started, I got into it. There were so many athletes from different sports—football, track, rugby, swimming—and the emotions were real. It hit me that this was the final signing for our class, and seeing my brothers take that next step really moved me. I’ve been to a lot of signings, but something about this one felt different. I don’t even know exactly what it was—it just meant more.”

Finally, Congratulations to these young men for their remarkable accomplishments. Moeller continues to be proud of its student-athletes as they pursue excellence beyond high school.
