Luke Loudon

Hey, how’s it going. My name is Luke Loudon and as a senior, this is basically my sophomore year. The reason I say this is because I transferred into Moeller from our biggest rival school, St. X. A lot of kids gave me crap about this, but I guess I deserve it. As an All-Saints grade school graduate, you would think Moeller would be my first decision. But no. I went into St. X hoping to continue a good life with my All-Saints friends and pursue an academically challenging career. Unfortunately, only one of those remained true. The first couple of months into freshman year, my friends started to deteriorate into different groups, as well as myself. Even though I was still great friends with them and my new friend group was great, it just hurt to realize that my expectations for high school were wrong. If I had known that I wouldn’t stay with the same grade school friend group for all 4 years of high school, my high school decision would have been a completely different school. This is where I started to see myself at Moeller.

Coming to Moeller might have been the best decision I have ever made. My first day I felt welcomed by people I have never seen and by people who I recognized from grade school. Prior to my first day at Moeller, I felt like I was already coming into the year very comfortable considering the fact that I already hung out with Moeller people in the summer. I had my own personal friend group from the middle of sophomore year, and I met people during football in the summer. Even though I had this experience during my freshman year summer when I played football, the energy from my junior year summer was completely different. This is because of the fact that I believe Moeller has the best high school community around. If I have learned one thing from transferring schools, it’s that Moeller has the ability to shape anyone into a young man. I am so happy that I came to Moeller and will always be proud to wear blue and gold.
