Christian Harris

Before coming to Moeller, I attended Chase Elementary School from first through sixth grade, then Hughes Middle School from seventh through eighth grade. Throughout those years, I was heavily involved in athletics. I played football, wrestled, and competed in shot put. Wrestling became a major part of my identity early on, and in my eighth-grade year I qualified for the state tournament, finishing the season 25–0 before suffering an injury.

During middle school, I was ready to move on. There were frequent fights, almost every day, and I felt it was time for a new environment where I could focus on growing both academically and athletically.

At Moeller, I continued to push myself in football, wrestling, and shot put. I played football all four years and had the opportunity to compete at the state level during my junior year. That season was the best experience I had at Moeller—not just because we made it to state, but because of the people around me. We cared about each other, we held one another accountable, and we all shared the same goal of winning. That sense of brotherhood is what made it special.

One of my favorite memories at Moeller was playing St. Xavier at Mason. The stadium was packed with around 11,000 people, and the atmosphere was unreal. It was our chance to earn one more game before state, and I gave everything I had. I played until the clock hit zero, and we came away with the win. My teammate Thomas and I fed off each other all night, combining for 20 tackles and a sack. That performance says everything about why that game meant so much to me.

After graduating from Moeller, I will continue my academic and athletic career at Wake Forest University, where I am committed to playing football at the collegiate level. Competing at this level will allow me to continue developing discipline, leadership, and teamwork both on and off the field. In addition to football, I am actively working toward building my own business and learning what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship allows me to apply my creativity, work ethic, and determination beyond athletics. By pursuing both football and business, I am setting myself up for success during college and long after my playing career ends.
