James “Jimmy” “Jim” William George (Malik)
Boys, my name is Jimmy, and I am an Ultimate Frisbee player and as Kuhlman would say, “A stud” out on the rugby field.
This is my fourth year at Moeller, but my family has been a part of the Moeller family for many years. Fun Fact: During my freshman year, I missed almost everyday of school in the month of November because I had a medical problem that we never found a solution to, but I’m still here so we are moving on.
Since the beginning I have been trying to involve myself and stay busy because I never like to sit around and do nothing. Ultimate Frisbee has become a huge part of who I am, and it is how I have met many of my great friends. I knew very little about the sport before high school, but after watching my brother, Sam George ‘18, and cousin, Louis George ‘17, play, I quickly fell in love with the sport. It is a simple sport to jump into and it is quite simple to get a “handle” on things. In 2018 I was on the starting line that helped lead the program into its first State Championship.
Currently you can catch me working up at Kings Island. I am working there to help gain knowledge and experience in the theme park industry because my goal is to become a civil engineer and help to design roller coasters. After graduating Moeller, I plan on attending either The Ohio State University or the University of Cincinnati to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering.
Fun Fact number 2, my last name is really not George, it’s Malik. My great grandparents emigrated to America from the country of Lebanon. When they arrived at Ellis Island, they were told to choose a more “American” name which is where George came from.
I am not much of a school person. I prefer to be out working and doing hands on experiences to learn more and develop better understandings for the way certain things work. You will very rarely catch me reading a book or any literature for that matter, but if you do it would likely be news on recent and current events. I tend to follow the news regarding tragic events and try to figure out how things like this can happen and get past all the security measures that seem to be in place. Also, trying to find the reasons on why the perpetrator would commit such an offense. Many of my articles will have to do current events and news going on around the United States, or more specifically the Cincinnati area that could influence our lives.
After spending my last four years here at Moeller, I am ready for one last ride. The memories and relationships I have made here are irreplaceable and there are still stories left to be told. I’m hoping to end this year with a bang. See y’all in the halls.
