Yossin’ the Fuego by Sean Higgins

Good day. I am Sean Higgins. I am a senior at Moeller High School. I chose to take journalism because obviously, it is an English class, but I wanted to get away from the traditional English class. Reading books and getting quizzed on them is just not my thing. Journalism is about talking about what you like. That is one of my problems. Talking. I can go on for hours and lead into different topics. Somehow, I manage to go topic to topic, while also linking them in some way.

I live in Norwood, Ohio. It’s about a fifteen-minute drive from Moeller. I have one sister who is 23 years old. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She got the smart genes. I got the athletic genes. I am part of a legacy at Moeller. My uncles went there, my dad went there, my cousins went there, and my younger cousins will go there. My uncles also coached football at Moeller.

Moeller has shaped me into a better man. We are required to do activities for service hours, but in my opinion, it’s definitely worth it. It shows you a completely other side of yourself that maybe you didn’t even know about!

Freshman year I made the baseball team. Sophomore and junior year, I got cut. But that gives me all the more reason and motives to go harder and harder to earn a spot on the varsity team.

Other than sports, I like to chill at my house and play video games. I mainly play Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Super Mega Baseball. If you ever need a sixth man for your CoD team, I am that guy. Or a doubles partner in Rocket League.

Another big thing in my life is music. I listen to music on the daily. In 2018, I listened to about 1000 hours of music. I know right? Insane. I listen to all types of music. You won’t catch me on the bandwagon too much. I listen to music I can relate too. I think that’s the most important thing about music. Finding something that you relate to, or you are in the mood for. I never listen to music because it sounds cool. I listen to the lyrics more than I listen to the beat. My favorite artist is XXXTentacion. Because his music has a much deeper meaning then most people. His songs have a story behind them, and the production of his music intensifies everything.

While I take journalism, you can expect me to write about sports, music, food, video games, or really anything. I like giving my honest opinion. And that is what you will get. I also take yearbook, so I kind of do this already. Except you don’t write stories like this.

After Moeller, I want to go to college to play baseball and study Sports Management. But I am for sure going to soak up this last year. I never thought people were right about high school flying by. It definitely has. These past three years have been the best of my life.
