Crazy Track News
I am going to talk about the girl who hit someone with a baton during the 4x4 relay and then lied about it on live TV. I find that kind of crazy because why would she do that? It could have ended badly, and the other girl's track career could have been over, especially since she got a concussion from it.
Her name is Alaila Everett, and she lives in Virginia. She is a senior and now faces many charges and consequences due to her actions at that track meet. She claims that her arm went up the other runner’s back and her body twisted. She explained that the curve of the track required her to run in a certain way, and she had to keep her balance and pump her arms. When the other girl cut in, she pumped her arms and accidentally hit her. Alaila apologized, saying it wasn’t intentional, but it didn’t seem that way on TV. So, I think she is lying.
Alaila also mentioned that she has been receiving many threats, including death threats and racist comments, and people have been making fake accounts to harass her on social media. The surprising thing is that her parents defended her, even though it seemed clear that she intentionally hit the other girl with the baton. I think this is a life lesson that some people don’t admit to their wrongdoings, and it will carry on with them until they decide to tell the truth.
It surprised me when I saw that she lied about what she did, especially since it was clear on TV that she hit the girl. But I guess she didn’t care, and now she has to deal with the consequences.
