One of the most exciting events was the dunk contest which included Senior Max Land, Junior Aiden Noise, and Junior Will MacCracken. The three players showed off their athleticism, throwing down a plethora impressive dunks. Max land had the highest scoring dunk which got a perfect score, however, Will MacCracken ended up taking home the trophy by the second round.

The three point contest was a roller coaster to watch as senior guards Ryan Stacy and Michael Currin faced off from opposite ends of the court. Currin ended up defeating Stacey 19-18 in a nail biter. After this two teachers faced off in a three point contest. Mr. Campbell went up against his boss Mr. Shaeffer and showed him what was what. Shaeffer struggled out there as Mr. Campbell dominated him winning by 5 three pointers.

The next event which in my opinion was the best event was the spin the bat three point contest between students from the student section. Myself, Will Braley, Nick Reilman, and Thomas Schwartz all competed in the event. We went to half court and spun around a bat on the ground 10 times and then had to walk to the three point line and shoot four 3 pointers. I can say from experience that after ten spins on the bat it is nearly impossible to walk straight. I nearly fell over trying to get to the three point line. Will Braley said when asked about how dizzy he got, “I have had four knee surgeries in my life and have been on painkillers each time, but none of those drugs can compare to how messed up I felt after doing the spins trying to walk to the three point line.” Watching everyone else stumble as much as I did was fun to watch.

The event was a great experience for the students to get to see all the basketball players and introduced to all the coaches. Students all got free cheese coney’s from Skyline. The players also had a great experienced. I talked to Max Land about the event and he was really happy with how it went. Max said, “ it was a lot better than I expected. Everyone had a great time and it was an awesome atmosphere.” The players all had a great time and all the fans loved it. Its safe to say that the event was a success and it will most likely become a tradition here at Moeller.

The Moeller Basketball program held a huge pep rally event on November 15th lead by the student section and the players to celebrate and introduce the new Moeller basketball team. The event brought in hundreds of students and other fans who were interested to see if we have what it takes to win three state championships in a row. The team didn’t disappoint as they showed out in the scrimmage and many other events.
