As spring is coming up, so are the sports that come with it. Moeller Lacrosse is coming off a year without a season due to Covid-19, and being a state championship program, they are ready to get back on the field and win some games.  Here you will get a brief glimpse into the lacrosse program, how they are preparing for the season, and what makes them a championship program.

In an interview with Varsity Head Coach, Sean McGinnis, he explained the importance of working together as a team, "We know we have a chance to be really good, but we are only going to be as good as how connected we are." With that being said, McGinnis mentioned the 2017 class that had a losing record going into the playoffs, but they came together and peaked at the right time and ended up winning a state title.  Their goal is to get better day by day and come together now before the season starts.

This year is going to be a big one for the seniors. With a large class of 17 seniors, they are looking to make their mark in the Moeller lacrosse history books and to help to keep the winning culture. While talking to McGinnis he mentioned team captains TJ Rotello, Lane Miller, Griffin Clark, and Brendan Garry playing a big role as leaders on the team but he is looking at all of the seniors to set a good example to the underclassman.  With a big senior class there are many players committed to play in college including, Lane Miller (Cleveland State), Brendan Garry (University of Indianapolis), Aidan Ross ( Ohio Norther University), and Ian Ellis (Lenior-Rhyne University).

From multiple sources I've heard that Moeller's offense was going to be a key factor for their team's success. With having most of the senior class playing offense and underclassman Zach Wendling and  Joe Ginnetti at attack, the offense will be a major threat.

Moeller will also have the defense to match it. With Senior Ian Ellis playing goalie and senior Aidan Ross, and juniors Jackson Garett and Ethan Coe, they make a tough defense.  Another key player for the team would be Danny Dunlop with his speed being able to transfer the ball from defense to offense.

By the way the team has been practicing and putting in those countless hours. They believe they really do have a chance to win a state championship title.  But it will not be an easy task. In a talk with captain TJ Rotello he mentioned teams like, St. Ignatius, St. Xavier High School (Moe's Biggest rivals), and other schools that they would have to bring their best game to.  But no doubt they will take one game at a time and getting better each game.  We wish this Moeller team good luck on march 19th when Moeller starts off their season at Loveland High School.
