Player Profile: Stephen Adams
Moeller Hockey Captain and Vice School Captain Stephen Adams is leading the hockey team into the playoffs this week. This is Stephen’s fourth year on the varsity team and his second year as captain. Stephen is a very skilled player and someone teammates can depend on in any game situation.
Stephen wears number 29 and is the powerhouse defenseman on the team. He can do anything on the ice, whether it be scoring goals, making plays, or getting the team pumped up by making huge hits.
Before coming to play for Moeller, he played in Owensboro Kentucky. He then moved to Cincinnati and tried out for Moeller Hockey’s varsity team hoping he could make the team as a freshman. After having a good tryout, he made the team along with four other freshmen.
Even though he was an underclassman, Stephen still showed leadership and helped lead the team in the right direction. His game on and off the ice was also recognized by select prospect teams as he was invited to play in Boston. Stephen also plays on a club hockey team where he serves as captain as well.
Stephen is thankful for his four years with the hockey team. He said, “Playing hockey at Moeller made me both a better hockey player and a teammate”. His favorite hockey moment at Moeller was winning the Holly Daze tournament and beating St. X this season. His advice for future Moeller hokey players is, “Enjoy being able to play hockey with your brothers, these guys are there for you and you should be there for them.”
His hard work has paid off as he won the Best Defenseman award his sophomore year and the Man of Moeller award in his junior year. Stephen will go down as one of the best players in Moeller hockey’s history.
Good luck to the Stephen and the rest of the hockey team as they get ready for the playoffs.
