Upcoming Moeller Tennis Season

Moeller's tennis team is gearing up for an exciting season. With Coach Alex Thompson returning as the Varsity Head Coach and the assistant coach Mark Kuntz, the team is ready to continue its success after an impressive 2024 spring season. The team has several key players returning, including seniors Henry Brown, Charlie Mollaun, and Alex Vonderhaar, who are expected to lead the team and set an example for the younger players this year.

Looking at last season's stats, Moeller's overall record was 14-6, meaning they won about 70% of their matches. Their performance in the conference was also strong, finishing with a 2-1 record. The team had a solid win streak, winning their last five matches, and their home-court advantage proved crucial, with a 7-1 record at home. They were slightly less consistent on the road, going 5-5, but still showed resilience in tough away games. Moeller also went undefeated in neutral-site matches, with a 2-0 record.

The Crusaders finished last year's season with a record of 14-6 while finishing second in the GCL tournament, just behind St. Xavier. They had some dominant wins over Elder and Lasalle, beating both 4-1. The Crusaders pushed through the end of the season with a five-game win streak to end the season.

After a strong showing last season, where the team finished second in the GCL Tournament, Moeller Tennis is looking to build on that momentum. The first match of the season is against Lakota West, where the Crusaders will take on the Firebirds.

Moeller’s tennis team is pumped for the upcoming season, and with their strong leadership and confidence, they have a good chance of another successful year. Senior tennis player Henry Brown says, "This upcoming season will be fun knowing that we have a strong team coming into the season. With a lot of seniors on the team, I think we can dominate this year and make my last season a good one". Fans of Moeller tennis can expect an exciting season as the team works to improve on last year's performance and aims for a GCL championship.
