The Great Sage of Moeller
Every school day at Archbishop Moeller High School, students walk into the lunchroom knowing they will have many different options for lunch. Sage Dining provides a buffet-style lunch with a variety of meals that change throughout the week. From wings and pulled pork to buffalo mac, Sage gives students and staff plenty of choices during the school day.
Students, teachers and other staff members use Sage every day, making it an important part of the school community. Instead of offering the same meal every day as Moeller did in the past, Sage changes its menu and provides different types of food that appeal to different students.
One of the biggest advantages of the buffet-style lunch is the different options. Students can choose what they want to eat and decide how much food they would like. Some of the meals served at Sage include wings, pulled pork, chicken and rice, different kinds of pasta, and buffalo mac. There are also many other meals offered throughout the school year, giving students something different to look forward to
The variety of food has also made Sage popular among many members of Moeller. Students and teachers have different opinions about which meals are the best, but many enjoy having multiple choices during lunch, and the great quality food that Sage puts out for being a buffet style service.
Moeller teacher Eli Tivin has a very high opinion of Sage Dining. Tivin described Sage as the “best school lunch I’ve had in the U.S.” His statement shows how highly some members of the Moeller staff view the food and the experience Sage provides.
Sage also gives students the opportunity to try foods they may not normally eat outside of school. By offering different meals throughout the week, the dining service can introduce students to new foods. This variety helps make the lunch experience more than simply getting something to eat before the next class.
Different people at Moeller also have their own favorite meals. After speaking with teacher Derek Williams, it became clear that sausage gravy is one of his favorites. Williams described the meal as “scrumdidilyumpious,” showing his enthusiasm for the dish.
Although students may not agree on which Sage meal is the best, the large selection gives everyone the opportunity to find something they enjoy. The buffet format also allows students to make their own choices instead of being limited to one meal.
With meals such as wings, pulled pork and buffalo mac, along with many other options, Sage Dining has become a favorite part of the Moeller school day. Its changing menu and variety allow students and staff to find meals they enjoy while also trying something new. For many members of the Moeller community, Sage is not just a place to get lunch, it is a part of the everyday school experience.
