Moeller Bowling Looks for the Strike

With the end of the fall sports season approaching, Moeller students are beginning to think about winter athletics. Of those sports that begin to heat up just as the weather turns cold, bowling is one that has gained popularity in recent years. Now the Moeller Bowling team has its sights set on bringing home its first GCL win this year.

Moeller 22-23 Bowlers celebrated their win against Ross High School.

During the 22-23 season, the bowling team was led by twins Luke and Dominic Kwiatkowski. Both averaged above 180 pins, an impressive scoring record. The bowling team ended last season with a 6-8 record that included massive wins over St. X, the team’s first GCL win in over 5 years. This year, the team is looking to improve significantly. Bowling Head Coach Rick Meno said, “I am very excited for this season and want to put all my effort into making these men of Moeller great men but better bowlers.”

If anyone is interested joining the bowling team, tryouts will be held on November 8th and 9th at Crossgate Lanes at 3pm. Lead Bowler Dominic Kwiatkowski said, “I’m looking forward to a great season and want to beat St. X and also try to finally win the GCL. I believe we have a great chance to have a breakout season.” During the offseason, many team members joined summer bowling leagues to stay ready for GCL play.

The first game will be held at Mason Bowl against Kings High School at 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 28. The first home game will be at Crossgate Lanes on November 30th at 3:30pm.
