Finance Club

By Connor Christenson

Do you start your day by checking the markets? Do you dream about stock portfolios and diversified investments? Are you looking for a way to continue your interest in finance with friends before school? Finance Club is the one for you.

Finance Club is run by Mrs. Evans and meets once a month. These meetings are typically held the first Wednesday at 7:15am in the CLC.

This club allows students to engage in practicing finance and learning monetary skills. The club often brings in guest speakers from the business and finance industries to further educate students on career opportunities. Mrs. Evans said, “This exposes students to different possibilities in the business sectors.”

This club also helps students expand the search for avenues they might like to pursue in the business world and during college. Students can dig into the daily life and role of an accountant or truly find out what it means to be an entrepreneur. Mrs. Evans added, “Speakers talk about their role in the business environment and students are encouraged to ask questions,” which allows students to get answers for any concerns or questions they have from current professionals in the field.

Students are also welcome to participate in the stock market game played in the personal finance classes, which allows them to experience firsthand how the stock market works, how to invest, and how to successfully make money.
