New Business Application/Excel Class

Moeller introduced a new course to the business curriculum this year: Business Applications/ Excel.

This course is an elective this semester and is taught by Mrs. Evans, who also teaches the fundamentals of marketing course. The class is offered to juniors and seniors; sophomores can only sign up with teacher approval beforehand.

This class is based on working on excel worksheets and Microsoft Office, both of which will be very important skills whether a student goes to college or enters the job market. Students who take this class also have the opportunity to earn Honors credit for the course if they obtain their Microsoft Specialist Certification.

Once the basics of excel are covered, the course is designed to let students dig deeper into the applications through individual projects. Students will learn and practice how to plug-in formulas, create data charts, and build complex excel workbooks. Through the course, students will gain all the knowledge needed to know how to operate excel.

Moeller Senior Talan DeBruler is currently enrolled in the Business Applications/Excel class, and he says, “this class is so beneficial for me because I am finally starting to understand how to properly use excel. It’s nice to learn how to use excel because I know I will use it so often. The more I do with the program, the easier it gets.”

I also take the class and find it very beneficial for many of the activities I want to pursue in college, such as handling numbers and charts. This class will help you organize all your data, thoughts, and charts. If you are interested in numbers and want to learn how to organize them, this is a class you may want to check out.
