Who’s Next?

Last year, the cup went to Quiroga, giving this house its first win. The only house that has never won the cup is now Zaragoza. Zaragoza House is led by Dean Boggess. Mrs. Boggess has been a strong leader for the house and wants nothing but success. Last year, Zaragoza ranked third, and this year, they are looking for the cup. Mrs. Boggess recently held a meeting with Zaragoza to discuss what it will take to win this year. Some key actions for Zaragoza will be to reduce detentions and increase logged service hours.

The Crusader had the opportunity to talk to House Captain Owen Boggess about his goals for the house in the spring semester. Boggess said, “There are three things we will need to do to win the cup. The first is to submit our service hours because that’s why we lost last year. Second, we need to show up to spirit events. The last thing is that we need to all come together as a group and make sure we’re all doing the best we can in and out of the classroom. It’s our year!”

As the spring semester progresses, there are still ample opportunities for houses to earn points towards the Marianist Cup. The next service event for house points is the clothing drive, which will kick off on Monday, January 29th. House basketball is already underway, and there will be several more house spirit events to come as well.

It’s still anybody’s cup!! Good luck to all of the houses, and may the best house win!
