Snow Day Glory!

The Moeller student body had been patiently waiting for their first snow day this year, and it finally arrived on Friday, January 19th.

Most years it seems like there are at least two or three snow days, but the lack of cold weather this winter has made snow days unlikely. During the week leading up to January 19th, the rumor about a possible snow day circulated around Moeller. All week, students were looking forward to Thursday because they thought it might be the last day of the school week. Even some teachers were teasing the possibility of a snow day.

Snow day fun!

My friends and I were speculating on whether we would get one on Thursday night. We knew we had a chance, especially when we heard some other schools in the area were cancelling. I went to sleep that night unsure of what the next day would hold.

I woke up around 5am to a call from Mr. Kremer, and I knew what it was immediately! I was so happy to be able to sleep in and then be able to play in the snow with my little sisters.

I wasn’t the only student who made the most of the day off. Moeller Senior Spencer Williams said, “I went sledding with my family and slept in.” Will McCullough, a senior who plays baseball had a story to tell: “I woke up at 9am to take my dogs out; I didn’t have time to get ready, so I didn’t have a shirt. I ended up falling in the snow, and it was the coldest thing ever.” Sounds like a lot of fun!

Asher Compton, a sophomore who plays lacrosse, said, “I went sledding, built a snowman, drank hot chocolate, watched a movie, and prepped for the basketball game.” Freshmen William Lang shared, “I stayed home and played 2K games all day.” It certainly seems like the Men of Moeller got the most out of their snow day!

While the weather is currently unseasonably warm, there is still a lot of winter left! Don’t give up hope, Moeller! There still could be another snow day this year.
