A Senior’s Opinion of Lunch

‍ ‍

Throughout the senior’s time at Moeller, the commons have been improved, and a lot of people think that Sage and lunch have also improved. Aidan Voss, a senior at Moeller, said, “There needs to be more chairs in the commons.” This is because sometimes, an extra class would come down, and if there are no seats available at the table you want to sit at, you must look for a chair that nobody is sitting on, and sometimes it is hard to find one, especially if you waited a while to get your food. He also said, “The overall cleanliness of the commons has improved.” Aidan was talking about the tables and floors that were sometimes messes during freshman year. Sometimes, there would still be dishes or cups left. There would also be bits and pieces of food scattered around. Now, the teachers have been making sure the students take care of their tables, which has made the commons better. He also talked about the dishes and said that he has not seen a cup or plate that was really dirty this year. In terms of food, some of his favorite lunches are grilled cheese, hamburgers, and corndogs. He also likes buffalo chicken chowder soup but thinks that it is not served enough. Aidan said, “More foods that work, and not always trying new things that don’t work could improve lunch.”   When there are unique and unfamiliar foods, a lot of people tend to avoid it, and people will instead just go for a sandwich or pasta. He wants more regular food because a good amount of people will not try the new foods because they either have not had it before, or they just prefer the basic things. Most of his favorite foods also reflect the idea that people like more basic things, and normal foods that everybody enjoys. Aidan also believes that food has ran out a lot less than it has in the past year, and it could be because of better management of the amount of food for lunch each lunch. Having fourth lunch during freshman year meant that you had a chance of missing the main dish and have barely any chocolate milk when it was available. The teachers also make sure people only take a certain amount of food and desserts, which have also helped quite a bit. Even if you wait a while to get your food, most of the time, there is always more of the main food, unless it is a popular day like hamburgers. Aidan believes that since his freshman year at Moeller, Sage has improved. He also believes that the commons have improved a lot over the years as well.
