Jack Clements
What’s up guys I’m Jack Clements and I’m a senior in Trinity House. I also play football. I went to St. Clement for preschool all the way until eighth grade. There were less than 20 kids in my graduating class. Most of them went to St. X and Roger Bacon. I was the only one to come to Moeller. I was a little nervous not knowing anybody was coming in. But I met a bunch of my best friends to this day playing freshman football during that summer.
A lot of my favorite memories from Moeller have come from playing football. In the 9 th grade, I remember varsity opened with Lakota East. It was my first time being in the student section and it was electric. They made us get out of the bleachers because they thought it was going to collapse. I went to almost all those games freshman year and I sometimes miss being in the student section. However, being on the field is just as fun. I will never forget my first varsity game. We went up to Massillon and were greeted with 15 thousand fans that were extremely loud. It was a huge game and a huge wake up call to how much people cared about football in Ohio. Those are probably my two most memorable Moeller Football memories, but I can’t forget all three of our state runs that came up a little bit short. It stings to lose in the same game, to the same team, three years in a row. But this year we are in good shape to make another run and finally get over the hump. Aside from just the football aspect, just being around my best friends everyday and laughing with them in the locker room is unmatched. Team meals and Chapel sessions are sometimes taken for granted but I know that these are the type of things that I will miss most when it is over. I hold all these guys and all these memories dear to my heart.
I am not sure what the future is going to hold for me. I get the same questions nearly every week. “Where are you gonna go to college?” and “What major are you thinking about?”. My answer every time is pretty much the same and it’s that I have no clue. I have been on a couple visits, but I just haven’t found a for sure place. I could really find myself winding up anywhere. If I had to pick my favorite today, I think I’d pick Dayton. On my visit there, it felt like a good fit. For the major question, I have very mixed feelings. My major will lead to my job and I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life. I think I will probably go into college undecided.
Family is one of the things most important to me. I live at home with my mom, my dad, my little brother, and my two dogs Dakota and Baxter. My older sister lives in New York and goes to St. Bonaventure University. Both of my parents are principals. My little brother is 14 and will be going to Moeller next year. I have always been super close with him and I am excited for him to be able to experience it.
