James Cornwell

My name is James Cornwell, and I am currently a senior at Moeller High School in the Zehler house. I grew up in the suburbs of Milford and went to Pattison Elementary School, one of 6 Milford Elementaries, and after that I went to Milford Junior High School. My family wanted me to go to a private school, so I shadowed at Moeller, St. X, and McNicholas. I chose Moeller because it was the best fit for me.

I am a kicker for the football team here, it is my first year playing and I am very excited for the 2024 season. We as a team have huge aspirations to win the first state championship since 2013. I have always enjoyed watching Moeller Football, I still remember the first game I went to freshman year, the environment was insane and we ended up winning and that was where my love sparked for Moeller Football.

My favorite Moeller memory was beating St. X my sophomore year, we had a big year the year before but we fell short to our rivals. The game was very hyped up, we had our MoeGate and pep rally the day of the game, the energy was very high. We were rolling into X week undefeated and needed a win to get us going for the rest of the week. The stands were packed, and the game kicked off. We got off to a slow start, losing 10-6 at halftime, everybody in the student section was nervous. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, we started the 4th with a touchdown, we were so excited until St. X struck back with a touchdown of their own, taking the lead with 7 minutes left. I was so nervous I left the student section and went to the end of the end zone. On a 3rd and long it was not looking good for us, nobody was open and then Luke Dunn saw Jordan Marshall going up the sideline and he threw it for a touchdown to take the lead 20-17, we went crazy. Defense stepped up and stopped them for the win and game me my best memory at Moeller High School.

I hope to give all of you guys great and entertaining information to look at whenever you want, share your ideas with us so we can make it a great paper for you guys. I hope everybody has a great school year, thank you.
