Jake Bell

My name is Jake Bell. I am currently a senior at Moeller. I am from Anderson in Cincinnati and attended Guardian Angels from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I had a great class there and made lifelong friends that I still talk to today, but only two other kids from my grade school went to Moeller, neither of whom I was very close with. This made Moeller a huge transition, and it took a little longer for me to adjust to the new environment every day as a freshman. Playing sports has greatly helped me find myself and build relationships with so many guys throughout high school. I have played basketball and baseball my entire life, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without the experiences I have gone through playing these sports. After getting comfortable with everything freshman year, I had a great sophomore year. I would say it was the most fun year that I have had with the combination of sports, enjoyable classes, and spending a lot of time with different friends and family. Going into junior year, I had high hopes, but it was definitely more of a struggle than I thought it would be. I injured my back in the fall and struggled during both the basketball and baseball season. It was also my toughest year academically, but I enjoyed all my classes and learned countless lessons not only in the classroom. I have also been a part of Little Buddies junior and senior year.

My outlook for the rest of senior year is really to just enjoy every moment of it. It has already gone by so fast. I am currently in the middle of my last basketball season, and it has been a great year so far. We are getting better as a team every day and are excited to see what we can continue to do now and in the tournament. I am also looking forward to the upcoming spring baseball season with all the talent we have, especially in the senior class. My main goal this last semester is to continue to make the most of the opportunity to go to a school like Moeller and not forget to have fun with everything I do, inside and out of school.

My future plans after graduation are attending Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, and playing baseball. I am looking to study finance or business analytics there as of now. I am also interested in psychology, possibly having it as a minor. I made my decision about two months ago after going to their camp and visiting the school, and I am looking forward to all that is to come while I am there. However, I will not let that get in the way of enjoying the last run of my senior year with some of my best friends.
