Before Moeller high school, I went to Loveland middle school. I grew up with a lot of friends in the same neighborhood as me and we would hang out almost daily during the summer. My closest friends are still almost all the kids I grew up with at Loveland. I didn’t like Loveland’s school at all because I disliked most of the other students there. My mom told me in 8th grade that I was going to switch to a private school in high school for a better education, but I didn’t get to choose where. I was not religious at all before high school, and I wasn’t extremely religious.
I joined the varsity tennis team all four years at Moeller. Aside from sports, I have tried out a few clubs once or twice just for fun after school some days. I joined the chess club and played in it around 5 times, and I also played pickleball and ping pong a few times. Freshman, sophomore, and junior year I was on the YPC board, and I would have been on it senior year, but it still has not been set up since Ms. Stiver was replaced. I joined the DoItForJack board at Moeller my junior year and this year I’m the vice president of the board. I try to help DIFJ whenever I can and I’m happy with how many hours I put in and how many more I’m going to.
My favorite moment at Moeller was last year at sectionals for tennis. I qualified for districts after a few wins, not dropping a game. The next week, I went to seeding. Seeding was important for a good draw at districts, so it was almost as important as qualifying. I won my first match in straight sets even though it was a tough match. To get the 1 seed, I had to play an opponent who I had lost to three times and never beat. The last set we played, he won 6-0. After losing the first set and getting broken in the second, he was serving for the match at 5-4. I broke him for the first time to save the match, and ended up winning the match 3-6 7-5 6-3, completing an insane comeback for the 1 seed. I was ecstatic because I had accomplished something so difficult and I wasn’t too confident going into the match, but I won after being down.
I am most likely going to The Ohio State University after I graduate from Moeller. I am in the school of business, and I am going to try to get into a major that’s something along the lines of engineering and economics. It is a great opportunity since it would help me get a good job straight out of college and I enjoy engineering and math. 5-6 years from now, I see myself with a good starting job so life can be much simpler. I want to balance having fun at college while also being devoted to my studies, so I’m going to join the club tennis team and maybe play volleyball with my friends.
