Moeller Hosts Open-House
Moeller, like many other high schools, runs an open house every year to try to catch the attention of prospective families and incoming students. The open house can be scheduled by families beforehand to keep things more organized, and if the families know someone at Moeller who has volunteered to be a tour guide, they may request them. Potential families may also walk into Moeller, and they will be paired with a tour guide at random.
All tours follow the same path almost exactly; the only way a tour would vary from the given path would be if the family or student did not have an interest in something or if they had a special interest in someone not on the tour route, like the Capstone Project or the Engineering and Robotics Club.
The open house is a great opportunity for 7th and 8th grade boys to get a feel for the campus and the environment here at Moeller. Also shown at the open house this year were some advancements planned from the well-known Raise the Shield initiative at Moeller.
This project collected donations from alumni and anyone willing to donate to give Moeller money for multiple new physical advancements on campus. Some of those new projects are already complete, like the new baseball complex on thirty acres of land about ten minutes from Moeller. On top of this, the new locker room for football was moved from the old cafeteria into the AC, freeing up lots of space for the new Sage lunch experience. The last and largest building project in the near future is the innovation hub in the Mary courtyard. The Mary statue will be moved and a whole new 3,000-square-foot building will go up. This building will have a stock trading room, robotics labs, a visual and physical art design room, and much more.
