Moeller students left Archbishop Moeller High School on an early January morning headed for the nation's capital. They would make the close to nine-hour bus-ride joining thousands of other men and women from across the world to show support for their beliefs.

Close to thirty Moeller students and faculty members went to attend the largest pro-life event in the country. They traveled to the annual March for Life to promote the sanctity of life in the United States. There were close to 150,000 pro-life supporters who came to the country's capital to support the movement.

This is the first year since January 22nd, 1973, that the historic case of Roe v. Wade no longer held precedent as it was overturned in 2022. This year was a landmark in the March's history because it was not only a protest against abortion but also a celebration of the historic case being overturned.

This year was Mitchell McNulty’s (’23) first time attending the March, and he said, “It really opened my eyes to see the real value of human life and how sacred it truly is.”

This was also the first year that Moeller traveled with students to Washington, D.C. since before Covid. This was also the first march in many years without Covid-19 restrictions, allowing thousands of people to safely be together with each other and enjoy the March.

This year was also the first time that Moeller’s new Lacrosse Head Coach, Mark Lynch, came to the March. Mr. Lynch said, “It was great seeing close to thirty of our Moeller Family marching on behalf of our pro-life values. Even though this was the first march since Roe V. Wade was struck down, the fight isn’t over and it was so great to see so many people in the nation’s capitol showing the movement in a positive light”

Moeller Students toured many of the nation’s famous monuments and historic buildings while in the capital. The Moeller students left directly after the March on Friday and drove through the night back home to Ohio. The students were rooting for the basketball team as they watched the live stream of the Crusaders defeating Elder on Friday. Moeller arrived home safely early Saturday morning, and the students were eager to share with their peers all that they learned in Washington.
