Exam Week Survival Guide
It’s the most wonderful time of the year—the end of the semester! The excitement of the student body can be felt in the halls, but with Christmas break coming soon, students also know that semester exams are right around the corner.

Your Crusader staff collected some tips to help you prepare for the upcoming exams.
START STUDYING NOW! Looking over your notes from earlier in the year for a few minutes every day will go a long way when it’s time to crack down and study. If you save all the memorizing and cramming until the last minute, you will find yourself super stressed going into exams, which could hinder your performance.
TAKE A DEEP BREATH! If you’re already feeling the pressure, take a deep breath. The more energy you spend stressing about your exams, the less energy you have to study for them. Take a deep breath. You have time.
CHECK YOUR GRADEBOOK! One of the best ways to make exams less stressful is to enter them in good standing in your classes. Check your gradebook and see if there is any missing work you might still be able to make-up, or if there is any extra credit opportunity you might be able to complete.
EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST AND GET SOME SLEEP! When exam week finally arrives, be sure you get to bed early and wake up in time to eat something. Nothing is more distracting during an exam than a growling stomach, and being tired can hurt your ability to focus and perform your best.
The Crusader also talked to a few seniors who have been through this several times now. Ashton Winder said, “This can be a very stressful time, especially for freshmen. Remember to stay on top of your work, and don’t put any of it off till the last minute.” Max Rudie said, “Make sure you start to study BEFORE the night before the exam.”
For freshmen who have never taken semester exams before, don’t worry. Your teachers are there for you and want you to succeed, so if you’re having trouble studying, go talk to them and ask for help. Seniors, your exam schedule may be a little different this year. For any class where you have an average of 90% or higher, you may qualify to be exempt from taking the exam. This will vary from teacher to teacher, so make sure you talk to them and fill out your exemption form, which can be found in your email and is due to the office by Wednesday, December 13th.
Christmas Break is almost here guys! Keep going strong these last few weeks, and you’ll get a nice report card for Christmas!
