Showtime from Down Under

Our Moeller basketball team, currently ranked sixth in the state, had its first game on Friday, December 1st. The team is led by seniors Eric Mahaffey, Noah George, AJ McBride, and Kyle Havens.

Showtime Basketball Tours helped organize the match-up between Moeller and Western Heights College.

This opening game was against a team that travelled all the way from Australia to face off against the Crusaders. The team hailed from Western Heights College in Geelong, Australia, about an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The college plays in an organization called Showtime Basketball Tours. This organization brings athletes in and forms several teams on various levels, and they travel the world. The team who visited Moeller also played games in several other states, including California, Nevada, and Florida.

Showtime scours the world to provide student athletes with extraordinary experiences. The program director, Kelvin Taylor, has built a program for Australian student athletes that is second to none in the industry and covers all facets of tour coordination. Taylor has in-depth knowledge of regulatory restrictions for travel teams in and out of the USA and first-hand knowledge of the top tourist attractions across both countries. Athletes in the program are sure to see some excellent competition on the court, as well as tour the highlights of the places they visit.

Showtime is a great program that helps student athletes discover and travel the world. Moeller enjoyed hosting the team and learning more about the program.
