THE Main Event

               On March 25th, Archbishop Moeller High School held their biggest fundraiser of the year. It is called The Main Event for a reason. This fundraiser was held in Moeller’s gymnasium where 425 people gathered around to support our amazing school.

               To start the night, appetizers and dinner were served by Vonderhaar’s catering. Many delicious appetizers were available while the sit-down meal was chicken and braised ribs. Delicious! The food was a big hit, but not as much as the auction that took place.

               The night’s main attraction, the auction, was held in the gym. At this auction, the money involved and donated would go right to Moeller and provide tuition assistance for all. This is a big reason The Main Event is called the main event. Tuition assistance is one of Moeller’s main priorities, and with this opportunity, Moeller can help many kids from around the city to have the opportunity to attend this great school. With that said, Moeller did a great job at receiving donations and raising money. They raised over $320,000. This can make such an amazing difference to our school, as well as the students and families attending our school currently, and in the future.

Moeller students and faculty, remember the cute little dog that walked around our school for a little while. Well, that was Lady Moe. That was actually the auction dog, and I bet you can’t guess how much she sold for: $6,000! That is insane! Although that sounds like a lot, many other items were sold for very high prices just like that. Some even higher.

               Now that The Main Event is over, the next big thing going on at Moeller will be several new additions to campus and the end of senior year for the class of 2023. The Innovation Hub, the add-on to the Student Commons, and the theater are some of the big projects in the work right now. Lastly, the class of 2023 will finish with exams on May 17th, and graduate on May 24th, with the Baccalaureate Mass the previous Sunday.
