Moeller’s Main Event a Success!!

Moeller Main Event was a success!!

Guests smile for the camera as they enter!

Moeller hosted its annual Main Event a few weeks ago in the Archbishop Moeller High School. The Main Event is a well-attended gathering of hundreds of people which hosts a dinner and live auction for many adults to enjoy, all the while providing money for scholarships and financial aid for many Moeller students.

The night started with an entrance into the new student commons where guests were welcomed with cocktails and offered hors d’oeuvres on silver platters. The guests then were escorted to the gym where they were served a delicious five course meal with the ability to access an expansive open bar. The basketball gym was completely transformed with everything from white clothed tables with beautiful floral center pieces to a large stage decked out with state-of-the-art speakers and lights.

Mr. Hyzdu, Moeller’s President, welcomed guests and shared a brief message about Moeller and its vision for the future.  The highlight of the night is the live auction, where many companies and families gifted different items and experiences. A professional auctioneer auctioned off items and packages to the highest bidder. Some of the hottest items of the night were vacation excursions, tickets to sporting events, jewelry, and an adorable puppy that went for over six thousand dollars.

You could feel the tensions rising as the bidding went on and see the excitement on the faces of those lucky winners who knew they would be heading home with their winning purchases. To end the night, the Moeller captains Joe Ginnetti, Stephan Adams, and Micah Pitts came onto the stage to share their stories about what being a man of Moeller means to them. With one final rally the auctioneer came to the stage and challenged everyone in the room to donate something, no amount was too small. With almost no hesitation, the bidding cards were shooting up left and right. It appeared that everyone had a wonderful time, all while raising money for a great cause.
