Take a Bow: Paul E. Flaig Performing Arts Center and Weitzel Mainstage Opens
Archbishop Moeller High School is proud to introduce its newly renovated Paul E. Flaig Performing Arts Center. As most Moeller students know, and likely heard, there has been construction all over the building the past couple years. The construction in the background of the 23-24 school resulted in the completion of the new performing arts center.
The auditorium includes around 320 comfortable seats that all face towards the Weitzel Mainstage at the front. The space around the stage is also quite large, with the Weitzel Mainstage itself capable of accommodating a variety of events.
The auditorium will serve many purposes. One of the first big events to be held in the new theater will be the spring musical. Moeller’s production of Godspell will start on May 9th at 7:30 P.M and will run through May 12th. The musical is based on a series of parables, primarily from the of Gospel of Matthew, and is interspersed with music set to lyrics from traditional hymns. This ties into one of our core values at Moeller as a Catholic school. Moeller invites you to support our theatre program and come out to see this play!
Other than plays, the auditorium will also hold chorus concerts, college signings, meetings, and campus ministry events. In fact, the spring sports signing was just held in the new auditorium where there were several signees and many Moeller students, families, and staff in attendance. The next event to be held in the theater will be Mr. Balbach’s final chorus concerts.
Moeller is excited for the completion of this new project and hopes that students use the auditorium for many years to come!
