Underclassman Spotlight: Christian Rivard
In this issue, The Crusader talked to Christian Rivard, a sophomore who is a standout athlete here at Moeller. Rivard is on varsity for both the lacrosse and hockey teams, playing forward in hockey and midfield/attack for lacrosse. In both sports, he is an offensive asset for Moeller. Rivard joined the varsity lacrosse roster this year as a sophomore and has been a varsity hockey player since his freshman year. Rivard won the offensive player of the year award at this year’s hockey ceremony.
The Crusader talked with Rivard to find out more about his Moeller experience so far.
The Crusader: How did you feel about the hockey team’s performance this season?
Rivard: The hockey season went well this year. We ended up winning the most league games we have won in years. The post season didn’t go as planned after losing early into the playoffs, but we look forward to getting back after it next year. Overall, we had one of the best seasons Moeller Hockey has had in a while.
The Crusader: What are some goals you have for both hockey and lacrosse in the upcoming years?
Rivard: Some goals I have for hockey and lacrosse are firstly trying to become a leader for the next two years, someone who people will see as a hardworking, committed teammate. I would also love to make a run in the playoffs again this year in lacrosse. My last goal is to build a stronger connection with my teammates and coaches; this will help improve the way our team works together.
The Crusader: What have you enjoyed most about being an athlete at Moeller?
Rivard: Getting to meet new people and building relationships with them through sports.
Thanks again to Christian for sitting down with the Crusader. We wish you the best of luck in your upcoming seasons for hockey and lacrosse.
