The Marianist Cup
The Marianist Cup is an annual tradition at Moeller High School that brings excitement, unity, and school spirit to the entire student body. All six houses—Trinity, Zehler, Eveslage, Zaragoza, Quiroga, and Pillar—compete throughout the year for the chance to have their name engraved in history as champions. The competition encourages students to get involved, whether by attending football games, avoiding detentions, or participating in special events designed specifically for the Marianist Cup.
Last year senior awards.
The kickoff to this year’s competition was The Amazing Race, held on Senior Start Day. Seniors were the first to take part in the upcoming events, with 10 different challenges to complete. Each house chose which events to participate in and in what order, but with only about an hour on the clock, they had to move quickly. At the end, the seniors gathered in the gym, where the Cavalry hyped up the crowd before announcing the winners. Pillar House claimed the victory in this exciting first event.
As the year continues, many more Marianist Cup activities are lined up. Right now, the Moeller Raffle is underway, and every student has the chance to contribute by selling as many tickets as possible. Each ticket sold not only helps raise funds for the school but also earns points for their house in the Marianist Cup competition. To keep students motivated, special incentives are offered: for example, selling $1,000 worth of tickets allows a student to skip shaving during November, while reaching $1,500 worth of tickets guarantees a parking pass for the next school year.
The Marianist Cup is more than just a competition—it’s a motivator that strengthens community, school spirit, and teamwork. It gives Moeller students a fun break from routine while also supporting important school fundraisers.
