Inside the new Innovation Hub

Last fall, Moeller stepped into the future as its brand-new Innovation Hub begins to open, sparking a new era of creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge learning. Blending business, entrepreneurship, design, and 3D printing, the Innovation Hub will give students the tools, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life. This new area of space gives students the opportunity to take the following classes, intro to entrepreneurship, intro to excel, AP microeconomics, art and design, 3-D; printing, and negotiations and writers. The goal of this addition to their facility is to get the students the most potential in getting the education that they want most. 

During the 2023-2024 school year, all the students were informed about the new addition and what type of classes that were going to be held in this area. There was also going to be a new band room and an area to study with a lot of places to sit. There are areas where you can plug in your computer, including little discussion rooms where you can talk to a team that you are assigned with for a class. These rooms were going to have big projectors so that one of the students could project the group’s work so everyone could work as one rather than everyone looking at one little computer screen.

In the spring of 2024, the innovation hub construction made its groundbreaking day, and the construction day had begun. This process would go on for the rest of the school year and include summer. From past experiences at the time when Moeller students’ education on the classrooms that were facing the construction were not getting the most potential, they could get in that class. A couple weeks later Moeller concluded that they would put window blinds on the classrooms that were facing construction which would stop distractions to those certain classrooms.

The Innovation Hub marks a major step forward for Moeller’s students and community. It provides new opportunities for learning, creativity, and collaboration. Despite construction challenges, solutions were found to keep classes focused. Overall, the Hub sets the stage for a stronger and more innovative future.
