2025 MoeRaffle
Every year, students reach out to people in their families and communities to sell raffle tickets and raise money for Moeller through the MoeRaffle. This year, the grand prize is $10,000, a $2,500 increase from last year. The money raised in the raffle supports tuition assistance for Moeller students and helps improve the school’s facilities and technology.
The fundraising goal for the raffle is $450,000; $75,000 has already been raised within the first day of the raffle. Moeller students are incentivized to raise money through rewards and benefits tied to fundraising milestones. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who raise $1,500 receive a guaranteed parking pass for the next school year. Seniors who reach this amount receive ten reserved seats and two reserved parking spots for the commencement ceremony at the Cintas Center. Another new reward this year is that seniors who raise $1,000 are allowed to participate in No-Shave November. Other rewards include a surprise smorgasbord for raising $250 or lunch at the original Montgomery Inn for $450. Students are required to raise at least $75; if this minimum is not met, the difference is added to their tuition balance at the end of the semester.
The MoeRaffle is more than just a fundraiser. It is also a competitive event between houses and mentor groups. The six houses compete to raise the most money to win the event and earn points toward the Marianist Cup. Additionally, mentor groups with the highest fundraising totals receive prizes like donuts. During MoeGate, the order in which students get food is determined by the amount of money raised or the level of participation by their mentor group, depending on the house.
The MoeRaffle fosters a sense of competition within the school, contributing to a larger goal of financially supporting both the school and its students. The MoeRaffle not only supports the school financially but also helps students develop social skills by encouraging them to connect with people in the local community. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for students to reconnect with relatives they may not have spoken to in some time.
