Moeller Cross Country Recap

As the high school football season is just beginning their postseason run, cross country has just wrapped up a very impressive year.

The Moeller cross country team had one its best seasons ever. After a long preseason grind over the summer and running countless miles every week, the cross country team has quite the accolades to show for their hard work. To start, the team came in first place in two different meets throughout the season! The first meet, the Jim Murray Memorial XC Invitational, was on October 1st . The boys were able to come out on top in front of twenty-four other teams. In the very next meet on October 8th, the team was able to earn another first place finish in the Coldwater Lions Club Invitational.

The cross country team also had many other impressive results throughout the season. The team made history by finishing second place in the GCL for the first time ever and also made it all the way to regionals in the post season where they finished 13th. Even though the cross country team has had quite the season to remember, this seems to be just the beginning of a very successful Moeller cross country era. The Crusader was able to talk with senior runner Michael Roncallo, who said he is very confident in the program’s future. Roncallo explained that three of the team’s top seven runners are actually underclassmen. He proceeded to say that he believes this is just the beginning of a bright future for the program, and he looks forward to seeing how the team continues to progress throughout the next few years.
