Moeller Bowling Making History

Moeller Bowling is off to an outstanding start to the New Year after struggling to put together wins in the early portion of the season. The team started the season 1-7 and 0-6 in the GCL, looking like it was shaping up to be a rough season.

After Moeller finished last in the quad, Coach Rick Meno said, “We’ll be back in the new year; this break is all we need going into the most important part of our season. We have only had a few matches this year up to our standards and need to do better. We need to put our big boy pants on.”

The first half of the season wasn’t all disappointment with the team putting up the highest score in Moeller history (2822 pins) while also having the highest pin average since 2014 which is 913.7 pins.

Moeller Bowling 23-24

Moeller Bowling is led by senior bowlers Baiden Gallo, who has a 201.4 average with 18 games bowled this season and Dominic Kwiatkowski, who has a 195.0 average with 22 games bowled this season. Other bowlers like Seniors Luke Kwiatkowski and Tyler Ruskin have been clutch all year, putting up solo game scores of 236 and 222. Senior Bowler Max Rudie also has been outstanding in the new year, putting up scores of 243, 237, and 209. The future looks bright with Junior Will Bimonte and Sophomore Thomas Dyjak putting up high scores as well.

Moeller Bowling started the new year going 4-1 with wins over teams like Walnut Hills (2426-2081), Ross (2692-2410), and the previously undefeated Norwood (2742-2645). Their biggest win was a comeback against GCL leaders St. Xavier (2808-2797) knocking them out of first place. Although they took a loss to the Elder Panthers, Moeller Bowling is looking to rebound against the GCL leader LaSalle. Prior to this match, the bowling team is 5-8 overall and 1-7 in the GCL, looking to reach .500 on the season.

This bowling team is putting up the highest scores in Moeller history, and they still have five matches left before the sectional tournament. Senior Bowler Luke Kwiatkowski said, “I believe we have the best team we have ever had and could make a run if we bowl how we are supposed to. We are better than our record shows and will prove that at the sectional tournament, but it starts with this match against LaSalle.”

Good Luck Crusaders and continue making history.
