Student Athlete Spotlight: Stone Busler
Moeller Wrestling has had a great season so far this year with the help of Senior Wrestler Stone Busler.
Busler has wrestled all four years of his high school career and helped lead the varsity team to a victory in three duals this season. On senior night in a dual against St. X, Busler pinned his guy within thirty seconds. The whole team was fired up from Busler’s pin, and it helped push the varsity team to a 46-21 victory over St. X.
Busler is striving to prepare for the postseason, where he hopes to lead his team in the upcoming state dual regionals and the state dual finals. Busler is really looking forward to districts where he will be able to showcase his talents, and then moving on to state to get the big win that he has been looking towards for a while. Winning state would be a major accomplishment for Busler because he has been striving towards it since the seventh grade.
The Crusader had the chance to sit down with Busler to discuss his time as a Moeller wrestler.
Crusader: What is your favorite memory from Moeller Wrestling?
Busler: Qualifying for state for the first time. It was an incredible feeling to know my hard work paid off.
Crusader: How do you view your role on the team?
Busler: I am here to help all students perform their best and become the best wrestlers they can be.
Crusader: What are some hobbies outside of wrestling?
Busler: I enjoy hiking and fishing; I know most people would say that these are boring, but I enjoy them.
Crusader: How did you get into wrestling?
Busler: My dad took me to a wrestling gym when I was in seventh grade, and I loved it.
Fans can see Busler in action in two upcoming matches. Moeller will meet Lebanon High School on January 25th at 6:30 PM, followed by Lasalle High School on February 2nd at 6:30 PM.
Thank you to Stone Busler for taking the time to talk with The Crusader!
