Repeat of the King of the Block

Here we go, the second game between the King of the Block rivalry this season.  This is a rematch of the week 1 game for the Crusaders.  This is what ignited their red-hot offense for the year, when the Crusaders had a comeback victory, 38-21.  Although, they did have a 7-point deficit for the first quarter, after that their offense had exploded for 5 touchdowns for the final 3 quarters.  In this week 13 matchup, I expect the Crusaders to continue to dominate on offense, and defense for that matter.  Coming of a plethora of double digit wins in the previous weeks, do not be surprised if this is yet another big offensive game for Moeller.

For the Crusaders, GCL Player of the Year, Matt Ponatowski 26’, is going to be a lethal threat to Princeton’s legit defense.  He had thrown for 415 yards to start the season, and he has not waivered whatsoever.  When his elite arm talent is paired up with receivers such as Matthew Fogler 25’, and Jovan Love 25’, with some tight ends such as Sam Hamilton 26’, and Cooper McCutchen 26’, it makes it that much easier to dominate on the offensive side of the game.  Their offense without doubt has proven themselves as not only the best offense in the state, but the leading contender for state championship game.

For Princeton, their defense has been highly touted since the preseason.  Going into the week one matchup it was supposed to be a close game, and this had been because of their lockdown defense.  They started off strong holding Moeller to some short possessions in the first quarter, however Moeller had ultimately run away with the game.  In the instance that Princeton could contain the Crusaders offense, I think it could be a good game.  What stands out for the Vikings, their middle linebackers have consisted of 200+ tackles, 100+ combined each, throughout the course of their season.

Ultimately, even with Princeton’s top of the line defense, I think this game is going to be very similar to the Crusaders week one matchup.  It could start off slow, however the Crusaders are going to pick it up in the second quarter to half, to then walk away with another double-digit win.  My final score prediction for this week’s matchup is going to be 35-24.

Jovan Love: Under 6.5 receptions, over 65+ yards, under 1.5 touchdowns
