Moeller Indoor Track Update

The Moeller indoor track team has had a monster season so far. There are a lot of superb athletes on the team that have grown and excelled throughout this season. History has also been made in recent events. Here is a dive into what this season has been about and the state events coming up this weekend for indoor track.

One of the notable events this season was the Michigan Indoor Track HS Showcase in January. Players who placed in the Boys D1 Top 25 were senior Camden Pawlick in the shot put, senior Matthew Fogler in the 60M dash, senior Gavin Barry in the 60M hurdles, sophomore Owen Speed in the 2 mile, and the 4x200M relay team (Adams, Walker, Jackson, and Fogler). Another significant meet was the Cedarville Indoor Meet in February, where Moeller finished 1st out of 46 total teams. A couple of the highlight performances at Cedarville were those of junior Landen Adams in the long jump and sophomore Kayleb Willis in the 60M dash (7th place).

The following Sunday, the team placed 1st once again in the Wittenberg Indoor Meet. The 4x200M relay team placed 2nd at 1:31.10, a new school record and the 3rd best time in Ohio D1. The 4x400 relay team placed 1st at 3:25.10, the best time in Ohio D1. Pawlick placed 2nd in shot put with a PR of 51-9, and Barry placed 4th in the 60M hurdles with a PR of 8.50. Finally, the 2025 President’s Day Weekend Invite showcased some crazy times by the Crusaders. Some of them included senior Dana Walker who placed 1st in the 400M dash with a PR of 50.26, senior Christian Stewart who placed 2nd in the high jump at 6-4’’, the 4x200M relay team (Willis, Barry, Jackson, and Walker) who finished 4th at 1:32.53, and Barry who finished 2nd in the 55M hurdles at 7.74. Theo James and Trey Webb also finished 6th and 16th in hurdles, respectively.

The indoor track team has a huge opportunity in front of them this weekend at state. It is located in Geneva, Cleveland, at Spire Academy. Eight individuals have qualified to participate in the 2025 Indoor State Championship Meet. These eight guys are Dana Walker (400M dash, 4x400M relay, and 4x200M relay), Christian Stewart (high jump), Gavin Barry (hurdles), Jackson Butler (4x400M relay), Trey Webb (4x400 relay), Landen Adams (long jump), Owen Speed (long distance), and Camden Pawlick (thrower). Dana said that he and the other guys are really looking forward to competing at the state meet this weekend, and they all have the confidence needed to perform at the highest level possible. Best of luck to these Moeller state qualifiers and congratulations to everyone who competed in indoor track this winter!
