Minecraft Revival

Minecraft is your standard console game. It has stood the test of time ever since the Xbox 360 came out 20 years ago. This sandbox game is entertaining for all ages and has adapted into a more complicated skill-based phenomenon. The attraction comes from the vibrant colors and simplicity of the game which meshes with the creativity aspect that attracts players young and old. In more recent years, Minecraft added realms which are shared worlds that allow you to play with friends and work on your world at any time.

Over break, me and a few friends decided to create a world. None of us had played in years and it was a good way to get back into video games. Little did we know we would become obsessed by the game. We started by getting simple tools and playing the game through like normal. But, as time went on we needed to build bigger and better things to be entertained. Builds started to take weeks of work between the 4 of us to complete making the game harder to leave. The teamwork aspect is what draws many players to the game and what makes the game for anyone whether they have never played video games before or are a pro player.

Soon after, especially during the snow days, the game really caught traction amongst students a Moeller. It has become somewhat of a competition of who can have the most creative builds and the best enchantments. These mini compeitions are what makes the game so fun to play and is what has brought life back to the game I once loved. I would rate the revival of this game a 10. The overall feel of the game and constant updates tells me that this game will not be dying anytime soon. Finally, with everyone going to college next year, it may be hard to stay close with our hometown friends. This game gives us a way to keep in contact and have fun at the same time.
