Moeller Golf Hitting 'Em Straight and Far

Moeller Varsity Golf Team

The Moeller Golf team has started off the year with a great season so far. One of the biggest changes from last year has been with the new director of golf and varsity head coach, Mr. Lambert.

Coach Lambert has been a great success for the team so far, leading them to strong finishes and promising individual scores. Moeller Senior Aiden Kennedy, who is on the varsity golf team, says, ”[Coach Lambert] is the one who makes us want to work hard in order to win and place well.”

The varsity golf team had one such success at the Alter Invitational at Miami Valley, finishing first place with a score of 296.3. Aside from all the success the team has had so far this season, one of the biggest enjoyments to the players are the beautiful courses they get to play. Some of these include Firestone County Club, Muirfield Country Club, and Brookside Golf Club.

Moeller JV Golf Team

Concurrently, JV has had the best starts to a season that they’ve had in many years according to Coaches Roth and Tenhundfeld. They’re currently 19-1 in dual matches and currently 2nd in the GCL.

Individually, at least seven golfers on JV have even medaled this season. Some other great placements they’ve had were fourth out of 19 teams and fourth out of 22 teams. JV golfer Peter Swallender expressed how much the JV coaches have helped him and the team this year. He described how Coaches Roth and Tenhundfeld work hard to drive the team to and from matches, provide tips for how to play courses, and give feedback for improvement and personal success. One of the changes that the JV team has experienced since last year is being able to practice on Hickory Woods Golf Course, which has majorly improved their success this season.

Good luck to both JV and Varsity Golfers as they continue their successful season!
