World Languages Awards Banquet
On October 12th, the World Language Department held its annual World Languages Awards Banquet in the Student Commons. The banquet honors students for achievements in German, Latin, and Spanish.
The awards banquet celebrates language students for three distinct achievements: success on the National Language Exams; induction into the German, Latin, and Spanish Honor Societies; and achievement of the Seal of Biliteracy in Italian, Korean, German, Latin, and Spanish. This year’s ceremony honored over 75 students for these achievements.
Nick Monohan ‘24 was one of the students who attended the banquet. Monohan said, “The Banquet was nice. It had a ceremony where each language gave a prayer and their own ways to give out rewards. I was accepted into the National Latin Honor Society, and I have been doing Latin since freshmen year.” The banquet also featured a delicious variety of appetizers and desserts for honorees to enjoy.
Congratulations to all those students who were honored at the awards ceremony!
