Cincinnati History is an elective out of the Social Studies department, and it is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The class consists of deep dives into all things Cincinnati—founding and origins, politics and economics, and cultural history of the people who have lived and continue to live here. The class is taught by Mr. Laake, who does a great job incorporating ways to keep the class entertained and focused while doing fun activities.
As you learn about the social history or our city, you will also study the geology and geography that makes up Cincinnati. You will learn about the highway systems and all about the different neighborhoods and important roads. You will also cover important people in our city’s history, along with sports teams and even unique foods. There are even some days dedicated to enjoying Cincinnati foods during class, and field trips to various museums and historical locations around the city.
Overall, Cincinnati History is a must-take at Moeller as you will get out a bunch of information and have a great time in the class.
