Grub Days: Comfort and Community
During the second and third quarters, Moeller High School offers grub days that serve as fundraisers for a variety of school activities and clubs. For a donation of $5, students can enjoy a day out of dress code, trading their tight khaki pants and collared shirts for something more comfortable, like sweats and hoodies.
Cash donations are collected in mentor groups, but if you prefer, you have the option to prepay $31 for all the scheduled grub days in advance. This year, six grub days have been planned, each dedicated to supporting different initiatives at Moeller. The proceeds will benefit several important causes, including Sidon (our therapy dog), various school clubs, retreat scholarships, LIFE, summer service trip scholarships, and the grief group.
So, why should you participate in grub days? Beyond the obvious part of being comfortable, your $5 donation goes towards making a difference in your school community. Rather than spending that money on something you do not need, like donuts, you can contribute to something that benefits the school as a whole.
Additionally, there are occasional extra grub days added for special events throughout the year. These extra days provide more opportunities to show your support and engage with the Moeller community. The first grub day of the year is scheduled for October 30, and it will specifically support Campus Ministry, focusing on the grief group and scholarships for service trips.
