New Classes In The Burns Innovation Hub

The Moeller Burns Innovation Hub is entering the final stages of construction. Finishing touches will be finalized over the next couple of months and will be fully operational starting in January 2025.

 This new building provides unique classroom space which allows many dynamic courses. This year, the Innovation Hub will have 11 new classes including Advanced Media Production, Art& Pop Culture: Design and Branding in the 21st Century, Design + Build Lab, Design Thinking, Human- Computer Interaction, Introduction to 3D Art, Design and Sculpture, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Moeller Media Production, Investment Research Honors, Negotiations and Advanced Rhetoric, and Portfolio Management Honors. These classes will improve Moeller as a whole and they will open a new range of learning opportunities for Moeller students. 

 I am excited about the Design + Build Lab course. In this course, students will be challenged to go deep into their design thinking process and problem-solving skills while designing their own physical prototypes and making them come to life. Another class I am excited for is the Introduction to Moeller Media Production. This course will teach students the world of media production and teach them to visually tell stories.  

A class my friend hunter Hemphill is excited for is Intro to 3D Art, Design, and Sculpture. This course addresses core principles of design and creativity. Students will learn a deep level of understanding through artistic exploration and design thinking, as students create art.  

Mrs. Brandyberry, the director of innovation and curriculum, says “I am proud of the new space, and the skills and insights students will be able to develop by exploring interdisciplinary challenges.”  

Overall, the Burns Innovation Hub will be a powerful addition to Moeller because the new classes will benefit the students in many ways. In the Innovation Hub, the students will be able to take on many experiential courses that allow them to excel in different areas that they have not been able to in the past. The Hub will be a fantastic addition to Moeller, and I cannot wait to see all the new classes and different environments in the Hub.
