Fall Concert

Moeller High School kicked off the year with an extraordinary fall concert, marking not only the debut of the new auditorium but also the introduction of a new chorus teacher. Mr. Scott Paeplow, who has joined the Moeller family this year, was welcomed warmly as he took over for the much-loved Mr. Balbach. Mr. Balbach, a Moeller legend, retired last year, leaving big shoes to fill. Although many were sad to see him go, Mr. Paeplow has proven to be a fantastic addition, preparing the chorus for this pinnacle moment. Based on the fall concert performance, it’s clear he’s done an excellent job continuing the legacy.

This year, the concert took place in the brand-new auditorium, a venue equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and seating for over 250 people. It was the first time a chorus concert had been held in this space, and the difference was remarkable. The music and voices were crisp and clear, resonating beautifully throughout the room. The professional atmosphere of the new auditorium elevated the entire experience—far different from past concerts, which had been held in the gym, where bright lights, echoes, and bleacher seating detracted from the performance. The auditorium brought a new level of excitement and sophistication, felt by both performers and the audience alike.

The concert was also a significant moment for the freshman chorus members, who performed in their very first high school concert. Whether or not they continue with chorus throughout their time at Moeller, this debut marked a special moment in their high school journey.

As the final notes echoed through the auditorium, the audience gave a standing ovation, confirming the concert’s success. Mr. Paeplow, along with his talented group of students, delivered an outstanding performance that left the crowd thoroughly impressed. With this strong debut, the future of the Moeller choral program seems brighter than ever. Expectations are already high for the next unforgettable performance.
