Christmas on Campus

On December 9th, Archbishop Moeller High School held its annual Christmas on Campus celebration, welcoming students from Coryville Catholic for a festive day filled with holiday fun. The event transformed the campus with Christmas decorations, games, Santa visits, presents, and pizza, spreading holiday cheer to all involved.

The day began with a school-wide Mass, where Moeller students and their Coryville Catholic buddies gathered in a spirit of faith and community. The Mass was interactive, engaging the children through songs and prayers. One student from Coryville Catholic even participated by delivering a reading, making the experience especially meaningful for everyone in attendance.

The event paired Moeller students with children from Coryville Catholic, ranging from Pre-K to 6th grade. Each child was matched with a Moeller buddy who spent the entire day with them, creating meaningful one-on-one interactions.

A highlight of the day was the array of Christmas-themed games created by Moeller students. Approximately 20-25 games were set up in the activity center, designed to be fun, easy to play, and simple to win. Children were thrilled to participate, collecting candy prizes that quickly filled their Ziplock bags.

Another cherished tradition was the visit from Santa Claus. Each child had the chance to sit on Santa's lap and receive a personalized gift. Moeller buddies were tasked with purchasing gifts based on their assigned child’s wish list. The joy on the children’s faces as they unwrapped their presents and played with their new toys was a heartwarming sight. They also eagerly shared their gifts with friends and classmates.

Toward the end of the day, everyone gathered to enjoy pizza and cookies together. It was a special time for Moeller buddies and their Coryville Catholic friends to relax, share stories from the day, and reflect on the fun experiences they had.

For the 5th and 6th graders, the fun extended beyond campus. These students, along with their Moeller buddies, took a bus trip to Crossgate Lanes for an exciting bowling adventure.

My personal experience with Christmas on Campus has been nothing short of amazing. For the past two years, I have been fortunate enough to participate in this special event. I have always thought highly of Christmas on Campus because of the joy it brings to the Coryville Catholic students. Watching the excitement and happiness on their faces as they engage with Moeller students is truly heartwarming. To them, this day is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity to feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

One of the most impactful moments for me has been seeing how much the Coryville students look up to us as Moeller students. They admire us, and the chance to spend a day with us on our campus seems to mean the world to them. It’s humbling to realize how much this event brightens their holiday season and leaves a lasting impression. For me personally, being part of this tradition has been a reminder of the importance of giving back and cherishing the connections we make with others.

Christmas on Campus continues to be a beloved Moeller tradition that strengthens community bonds, fosters giving, and creates unforgettable holiday memories for both Coryville Catholic students and their Moeller buddies.
