Moeller Zaragoza Exchange Program

At Moeller High School, there are many different programs, but none of them are as unique as the Zaragoza Student Exchange Program.

The Zaragoza Exchange Program is a six-weeklong program that takes place in late January to early February each year. This program allows Moeller and MND to send a group of students to live and experience life in Zaragoza, Spain. Following this, in September and October of the next school year, those same students from Zaragoza, Spain will come to Cincinnati and experience life here. The director of the program, Mr. Dave Campbell, said his goal for students who go on the trip is “to get out and experience the world in whatever ways possible. The exchange provides ways to visit and enter into a culture fully in Zaragoza, Spain, rather than being a tourist. It is an experience that enriches [participants], and one they will always remember.”

The Crusader also sat down with Noah Phillips ’26, who just returned from this year’s Zaragoza trip.

The Crusader: When you went to Zaragoza, did you enjoy your overall experience?

Phillips: I had a great time in Zaragoza and a great overall experience there. The people at the school were very friendly and the food was great!

The Crusader: What was your favorite part of the exchange?

Phillips: My favorite part of the exchange was traveling around Spain. I was able to go to Madrid and explore the city as well as ski in the Pyrenees Mountains.

The Crusader: Could you ever see yourself going back to visit your host family again?

Phillips: I could definitely see myself going back to visit my host family. I enjoyed living with them a lot.
